Lung Cancer Prevention - Smoking

This should be obvious, since smoking is the number one cause of lung cancer the best way to prevent it is to not smoke.

Lung Cancer Prevention - Environmental pollutants

The second greatest cause of lung cancer is environmental contaminants such as asbestos, inhaled chemicals and solvents,  inhalation of petroleum products. Avoid these as much as you can and when you can't protect your lungs with a mask or respirator.

Lung Cancer Prevention - Diet

A diet rich in fruits and vegetables has been shown in several studies to reduce the risk of lung cancer.

All fruits and vegetables contain flavones and flavonols (also known as "flavonoids"), but berries, apples, and onions have the highest levels. These substances act as antioxidants, as do some vitamins, which are believed to help maintain healthy cell function

Lung Cancer Prevention - vitamin E and beta Carotene

Diets rich in vitamin E and beta Carotene have been shown also to lower the risk of lung cancer. Also supplementation with vitamin E and beta Carotene has been shown to help reduce the risk of lung cancer.
