A diet rich in fruits and vegetables has been shown in several studies to
reduce the risk of lung cancer.
All fruits and vegetables contain flavones and flavonols (also known as
"flavonoids"), but berries, apples, and onions have the highest levels. These
substances act as antioxidants, as do some vitamins, which are believed to help maintain
healthy cell function

Diets rich in vitamin E and beta Carotene have been shown also to lower
the risk of lung cancer. Also supplementation with vitamin E and beta Carotene has been
shown to help reduce the risk of lung cancer.
